HEY THERE, I’M STEPHANIE…

My own health challenges led me to a holistic, food-as-medicine approach to wellness.

In addition to my nutrition and functional medicine credentials, I have a professional career as a classical musician. The long practice hours, competitive auditions, stressful performances, and my perfectionist tendencies eventually led to a state of burnout that was so intense it was more of a break down.

I struggled with extreme fatigue, cold intolerance, skin problems, severe headaches, depression, and anxiety that felt crippling. Despite bouncing from one specialist to another, I found little relief for my chronic discomforts from traditional treatments.

Eventually…thankfully (when nothing else worked) I discovered the world of functional nutrition.

SUPPRESS VS. ADDRESS

Rather than simply suppressing symptoms, functional nutrition addresses the root causes of symptoms by evaluating every aspect of one's health, diet, and lifestyle. A functional nutrition approach to wellness is founded in the understanding that we are all unique — with our own genetic framework, health history, and emotional profile. Which means a customized strategy is essential to creating and sustaining optimal health.

Your body can do the work of healing when you remove the obstacles standing in your way.

You may have food sensitivities you’re not aware of. Your hormones may be out of balance. Your gut flora may be off. Years of stress may have taken their toll on multiple systems.

As your functional nutrition coach, my job isn’t to diagnose illnesses — I focus on wellness. My job is to consider all the factors impacting your body’s ability to function well and help you make targeted adjustments to correct things so your body can do what it’s naturally really good at…healing itself.

Turning my health around was a game-changer! It also inspired the direction of my career.

For most of my life, I was a professional classical musician. I have a DMA from the University of Michigan, and I’ve taught at universities and performed in orchestras all over the world. When I discovered the profound difference that functional foods and lifestyle changes made in my life, I went back to school for my Master’s in Nutrition and Functional Medicine. I graduated with honors, spent the next 18 months doing my clinical internship, passed a rigorous credentialing exam, and started my functional nutrition practice.

I combine science, clinical experience, interpersonal connection, and mind-body practices for a personalized and holistic approach to health. A student at heart, I am continuously learning from the latest research and the most respected leaders in women’s integrative health. In me, you’ll have a committed partner on your path to wellness.

Stephanie is absolutely amazing. I cannot believe how many health mysteries she has solved for me. My doctors usually shrug or imply I’m exaggerating. Stephanie listens and takes things seriously. More importantly, she figures out what’s actually going on and helps me fix the underlying causes.
